I welcome the term Throwback Thursday. I like to change it up sometimes and say, Think back Thursday. It allows me to reflect on happy memories. Such as when I went on my first trip, vacation, alone. I went to the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. Though beautiful minimizes this beautiful place. I could take a thousand pictures to show others, but it would be an injustice of experiencing it themselves. I see why the opening scenes of the show Fantasy Island (which I loved as a child) were from Kauai, Hawaii. Makes perfect sense.
I went through issues when I arrived. My travel bag was torn with my delicates on display as it went around the turnstile of bag claim. It is okay. The next day I replaced it with my first official travel luggage set that would go on to see many new places.
I allowed nothing to stop me from enjoying Kauai. I went to a luau, historical tour, helicopter ride and other fun activities. My favorite was the drive up high to an overlook that enriched my view of life. There was a lighthouse as I looked down that had the ocean at its bottom. At that moment we all became one. The resort I was staying at was delightful. But when I stood upon that hill, I entered another entrance, check-in to hotel peace. It welcomed me with a warm reception like the concierge seeing the tired guest arrive after a long flight, bumpy shuttle/taxi ride, and time spent dealing with luggage mishaps.
It was in comparison to my life of obstacles. I was tired. My soul, mind, and body yearned for rest. I was in a heightened state of stress for a long time. When I stood above that lighthouse it pointed the way for me as it has done for those before seeking the land in darkness. It showed me peace. A place where I did not know existed. I felt as if I traveled to uncharted land and wondered if anyone else knew of it. A discovery that brought me to an exploration of self. It told me to start living more than surviving. To survive means to have basic necessities, getting by or as the song goes, keeping your head above water. To live is a state of being that expands the mind and allows a connection to everything. It opens the portal of joy which is essential to wellbeing.
Peace, harmony, within is important. I know we have many to dos. However, much of what we take on can be released from our lists. Sometimes we must ask ourselves, “Is this or that a burden, blocking me from being in a place of peace?” When we are in this state, we are given clarity, lower blood pressure, increased immunity, better digestion and much more. Living in peace, being in peace brings abundance to you. Making life easier because it creates alignment of mind, body, soul (emotions) and spirit. Keeping us away from hustling or forcing what we desire. Peace brings it naturally without asking. It is a place for any weary travelers. The fantasy made real. Welcome to Hotel Peace. Enjoy your life here!
~Be well,
P.S. The picture is at the hotel I visited for the luau in Kauai, Hawaii. I stayed at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
