What Happened in Playa del Carmen Mexico

Something happened here. To the left is a picture taken on this day, seven years ago at a beach in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. A justice given. An action made right. But let me first tell you what happened years prior. In 2013, I went to Play del Carmen on a trip as a single woman in search of a better relationship. Not one with another person, a greater connection with myself and of course my Divine Source. I had a ceremony prior to this trip in which I decided to be a single woman for the rest of my life. I say single because I know that with a stronger connection to Divine Source I am never alone. It was a funeral of sorts in the best way. I let go of the attachments of forcing myself to be with another person and previous convictions. I knew the past lives, past versions of me, were holding me bondage. As I said in my book, Black Girl Gone Guru, “I rose from the bed and felt lighter.” My spirit resurrected.

Packing light, letting go of a lot of old stuff, head and heart baggage allowed me to have a great time on my first trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Although I was in an enjoyable mode I had to pass the test. I had to confirm that I truly surrendered myself in the burial ceremony before my trip. I heard from the Divine to do something that scared me (you can find out what I had to do in my book Black Girl Gone Guru.) After it was done, I heard and felt from the Great Source, “you will never be the same again.”

Fast forward to this picture of me, on this day, years later from the initial voyage. I consider it a voyage because it was more than a vacation, it was an exploration into other parts of me. I stand here in elation because someone I thought I would never have taken this picture. My husband. My best friend. My travel partner and more.

You see, the greatest thing we can do sometimes is give it away. We often carry much that weighs us down in our mind and soul (heart space) that blocks our spirits from flowing. It blocks us from living better lives than the Divine Source always wants for us. What I let go of years ago was the correction. Not so much focus on what was wrong. But permission was granted for Divine Source to make it right. May you be free of mental bondage to bring harmony within. Thus, having an improved life that can be greater.
