"You are Azucar/Sugar"

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

Azucar means sugar in Spanish. That was exactly my experience of Havana, Cuba years ago. It was so sweet to me. I am always seeking to learn new cultures when traveling outside the United States. Learning is the candy or dessert that excites your taste buds and leaves you wanting more. I understand why artists varying from writers to musicians had visited this place. Very inspiring! The architecture of buildings erected from hundreds of years ago show the influence of Spain. The people who vary from light complexion to dark, straight hair to curly hair, light color eyes to deep brown and they were all one people. Did you know that, Cuba and Brazil hold the biggest population of those considered Afro-Latin? Many people from Africa, brought over as slaves, left a mark just as big. The drums used in their music and the deities they recognize to this day, such as Yemaya, came over on the ships to never leave them.

Makes me think of the power of impact or influence. Which we all are doing. Every place we go we leave an imprint. Whether at a local gathering or another country. Our very presence can sway the actions of others. For we all are atoms bouncing around this world in a universe sharing space. Giving and transferring. When we are aware of that and understand in using it to leave a positive impact, we leave more than an impression, we leave a legacy.

Peace & Blessings Always,
